Drainage Systems

With the first of a series of 4 storms coming our way tonight, its not too late to install a drainage system. Scarlett’s Landscape is experienced in the troubleshooting of an existing drainage system or the design and installation of a new one. Just last week, we installed an 80′ long “French” drain. We dug a trench 8″ deep and filled the bottom 3″ with gravel. We then placed perforated 3″ drain pipe in the trench and covered it with a filter sock to keep out the debris. We also installed a catch basin every 15′ to catch surface water as well. There was an existing catch basin on the far side of the yard, but the homeowner had no idea where it drained to. All she knew was that eventually the water drained out. We were able to find the exit of this line in her front lawn, 5′ from the sidewalk – perfect! We attached our new drain line to the existing catch basin and put a pp-up drain outlet in the lawn. This outlet stays closed so no debris can enter it, but opens when water is flowing out via spring loaded top. For a free consultation call or email us anytime – rain or shine!
